Russian forests are burning, people are dying, and houses are disappearing, leaving tenants homeless. The entire city is overtaken by smoke and the Kremlin is barely visible. Temperatures were close to 40 degrees C (100 F) and the smoke just added to the heat wave. According to greenfudge.org there are “554 wildfires are currently burning over an area of 190,000 hectares (470,000 acres). So far 276 fires have been extinguished”

Surprisingly, there are 1,200 drowning deaths related to the burning fires in Russia. People are throwing themselves into rivers and lakes in an attempt to cool down. Some of the swimmers are drunk… and as a result, people drown.
