Perfidy by Ben Hecht

If you want all your previous understanding turned upside down or f you have no previous understandings Perfidy by Ben Hecht is the book for you.

Throughout the book, the reader will see heroes of the generation become terrible criminals as a result of a court case.

A million lives of Hungarian Jews and many what-ifs.

Hecht writes of the Kastner trial. Although most people are probably aware of the Kastner transports and the fact that Kastner's righteousness remains controversial in most circles, Hecht presents the case in a clear manner in a way that brings darkness into light.

Although Hecht is extremely black-and-white in his position against the government because of the anger triggered by the betrayal he witnessed, it is a book I strongly recommend.
